Illuminators

Backlight

Backlight illuminators are devices used in machine vision or industrial vision to illuminate objects or samples from behind.

Backlight illuminators project light through the object itself to create a transparency effect, detect hidden characteristics or provide uniform backlighting.

  • The light is projected through the object or sample from above or behind, creating a backlighting effect that allows viewing of otherwise invisible details and characteristics.
  • Designed to provide uniform light on the object, avoiding shadows or unwanted reflections.
  • Possibility to adjust the intensity of the emitted light for greater control of the scene.
  • The perfect solution when the light needs to reach the edge of the mechanical structures. The edgeless design on one side allows uniform light emission from the central part of the illuminator towards the edge.
  • Guarantees low light decay at the edges of the unit.
  • Can be equipped with polarisers (circular or linear) and collimating films to improve the straightness of the emitted beams.
  • The shape of the edge-lit lighting facilitates their installation in spaces with significant space constraints. The units can operate in continuous and strobe mode.
  • Configurable for inspection of transparent objects and to highlight hidden details within a sample.
  • Equipped with special optics such as cylindrical or flat lenses to concentrate the light for more focused or uniform lighting.
  • Viewing of hidden details and characteristics within objects or samples.
  • Can be used to identify defects, cracks, bubbles or other imperfections invisible to direct light.
  • Assessment of the uniformity and quality of the material of transparent objects.
  • Accurate dimensional measurements thanks to precise edge and contour detection.
  • Inspection of transparent materials to detect hidden defects, impurities or characteristics in materials such as plastic, glass, film or transparent fabrics.
  • Quality control for products such as printed circuit boards, displays, control panels or finished products.
  • Inspection of ampoules, capsules or other pharmaceutical products to guarantee their integrity and quality.
  • Use in quality control of foodstuffs, for example to detect foreign bodies or defects in packaged products.
